It knows your rig's size and weight, so its routing, warnings and estimates are about your setup, not a generic car.

How do I get started?

Set up your rig in the Garage, then start a trip from Plan — describe it to Izara, pick a curated route, or build it stop by stop. From there you'll see the cost estimate straight away; add a budget any time for the full affordability picture.

What devices does Ready2Roam support?

Accepted Answer

Ready2Roam is available on iOS (iPhone and iPad) via the App Store and Android via Google Play. The app requires iOS 16+ or Android 8.0+.

How do I plan a trip?

Accepted Answer

Everything starts in Plan. Three ways in: describe it to Izara ("two weeks up the coast, powered sites"), pick a curated route and tap "Plan this route," or build it yourself stop by stop. Planning never needs a budget — you'll see the free cost estimate as soon as your route has stops.

What's the difference between Plan and Roam?

Plan is where you design a trip before you leave — route, stops, dates, the estimate. When you tap Start trip it moves to Roam, your on-the-road home: live progress, your current stop, nearby places, the journal and the whole-trip wrap-up. A trip lives wherever its status says — planning trips in Plan, active and finished ones in Roam.

Can I change a trip after I've started it?

Yes. Small changes — reorder what's ahead, add a stop — you do right there in Roam. For a bigger reshape, tap Edit plan to open the full planner for that trip and come back to Roam when you're done; the trip stays active the whole time. You can also send a trip back to planning if plans change — nothing is lost (stops, spend, journal and any linked trips all carry over).

Can I plan more than one trip?

Yes. Free travellers can have one active trip with up to 5 stops; Nomad Pro removes both limits and keeps your full history. Each trip carries its own route, stops, estimate and (if you link one) budget.

Can I reorder the stops on my trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes — drag stops into the order you want while planning, or tweak what's still ahead once you're on the road. If you'd rather the app find the most efficient order for you, that's Optimise (a Nomad Pro touch).

What is the trip cost estimate?

Accepted Answer

As soon as your route has stops, Ready2Roam estimates what the trip will cost — distance, nights, fuel for your rig, and typical site costs — and it's free, always on. Link a budget (Nomad Pro) and you also get the affordability picture: go / not-yet and how much runway you have.

Can I chain one trip into the next?

Yes. When a trip wraps, Plan next leg starts the follow-on already linked to it, so a long journey reads as a connected sequence rather than a pile of separate trips. The link survives editing and sending a trip back to planning.

Can Izara add stops to my trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes — ask Izara to add a stop, find places along your route, or reshape a leg, and it edits the trip for you. You stay in control: review and keep what you like.

What does Track do?

Accepted Answer

Track is your money hub, with two sides. Budget is where you plan — set a monthly amount over a number of months and see a go / not-yet verdict. Spending is where you record what you actually spend as you travel, with a running pace, category breakdown and how you're tracking against your budget. One continuous ledger covers both the planning spend and the on-road spend — it never resets when you start a trip.

What's the difference between the Budget and Spending tabs in Track?

Budget is the plan — what you intend to spend. Spending is the reality — what you've actually spent, with your pace this week, your biggest categories and how it compares to the budget. Together they answer "can I afford this trip?" and "how am I going so far?"

Do I need a budget to track spending?

No. You can record expenses without a budget and still see your spending and pace — Track will nudge you that creating a budget unlocks the go / not-yet and comparison view, but it's never required.

What is a baseline?

Your baseline is your typical month of spending — the yardstick Track uses to tell whether a trip is comfortably within reach or a stretch. It lives in Track alongside your spending pace, so there's one home for "how I normally spend."

How does expense tracking work?

Tap Track an expense from Track (or from the trip) to log what you spend; it drops into the category breakdown and updates your pace and budget comparison straight away. The same ledger runs from pre-departure prep through to the end of the trip.

What does the Dashboard show?

The Dashboard reads where you are in the journey. Between trips it's a planning cockpit — continue a draft, start something new, and a nudge to set up a budget. With a trip coming up it counts down to departure and shows how ready you are. On the road it leads with Road Pulse.

What is the Road Pulse card?

Accepted Answer

Road Pulse is your at-a-glance status for the road ahead. It leads with navigating and your next stop, then whether you're on track and have daylight, then weather and off-grid notes, mobile coverage, and your budget and fuel burn last. For coverage it shows where you'll have usable signal, where you won't, and — importantly — where we simply don't have data yet. "No data yet" is never shown as "all clear."

What places does the map show?

Campgrounds, caravan parks, free camps, dump points, rest areas, fuel, and the specialty networks (Harvest Hosts, public land, and more) — the places that matter to rig travellers. Tap any place to see its details, amenities, pricing and reviews.

How do I see a place's details?

Accepted Answer

Tap any place marker to open its detail sheet — amenities, pricing, the official rating and any community reviews and photos. Where a place has no community content yet, you'll see an honest, inviting empty state rather than a blank shell.

How do I report a missing road restriction?

Accepted Answer

If you spot a height, width, length, weight or axle limit we don't show, open the rig advisories on your route and add it — pick the limit type, enter the posted value and drop it at your location. Your report goes to our review queue; once a human approves it, it helps every traveller with a rig like yours. Nothing you add goes live automatically.

What is the Garage?

The Garage is the home for everything about your rig — your vehicles (tow vehicle and van, or your motorhome), their real specs, the resources that live on board, and your upkeep. Set your rig up once and the whole app routes, warns and estimates around it.

What does my rig setup store?

Accepted Answer

Make, model, year and the dimensions that matter — length, height, width, weight and axles — plus fuel type and economy. These drive your rig-aware routing, the restriction and grade advisories, and your fuel estimates. You can keep more than one rig and switch between them.

How does spec lookup work?

Accepted Answer

When you're setting up a rig, tap Search specs and Ready2Roam fills in the known dimensions and weights for that make and model, so you're not hunting through a manual. Check and adjust anything against your actual rig.

Is there a guided way to set up my rig?

Yes — the setup wizard walks you through your rig step by step, so even a first-time setup is quick and nothing important is missed.

How does upkeep (maintenance) tracking work?

In the Garage, open a rig to log and track its upkeep — services, due dates and history — so you know what's done and what's coming up. Izara can log a completed service for you if you'd rather just tell it.

Can I navigate inside Ready2Roam?

Yes. Ready2Roam has its own rig-aware turn-by-turn: a heading-up map, a 3D rig puck, a clean navigation style and an arrival card — and it works offline on your route. In-app navigation and offline nav packs are a Nomad Pro feature; free travellers can still plan the drive and hand off to Google or Apple Maps to navigate.

Is the navigation rig-aware?

Yes. It routes around what your rig can't do and raises safety advisories as you drive — a steep grade ahead for your weight, a possible clearance or restriction, a fatigue nudge. These advisories are advisory only: always check the posted signs and your own clearances on site. Where our data is thin for an area we say so — no advisory never means the road is clear.

What is "Plan a drive"?

It's the quick multi-stop drive builder — add and reorder the stops for a single drive on the fly. Building and reordering it by hand is free. Letting Ready2Roam find the most efficient order — Optimise — is a Nomad Pro touch.

Can I see the full list of directions?

Accepted Answer

Yes — tap the maneuver banner at the top of navigation to open the full, scrolling turn list for the whole route, then tap back to the map.

Can I leave navigation and come back without losing my route?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Minimise navigation to use the rest of the app, and a Return banner stays across the app to drop you straight back in — no re-routing.

Does navigation work offline?

On your route, yes — with a Nomad Pro offline nav pack downloaded, turn-by-turn, grade warnings and rig advisories keep working without signal. Coverage data on the route comes down in the same offline pack.

What is Discover?

Discover is where you explore beyond your own trips — browse the map for camps and dumps, flick through curated routes, read places and the blog, and lean on what other travellers have shared. (Your own trips, routes and here-and-now live in Roam.)

Hand-picked journeys you can browse in Discover. Find one you like and tap Plan this route — it hands straight to Plan as a new trip you can make your own.

Can I add places, reviews and photos?

Yes, and it's free (you just need an account). Write a review, add a place we're missing, upload a photo, or ask and answer questions. Everything is moderated, and your contributions help fill the map for everyone — especially the quieter spots.

Why do some places have no reviews or photos?

Ready2Roam is growing, so community content is still filling in. Rather than fake it, a place without community content shows an honest "be the first" prompt, while its official details — type, amenities, pricing, rating — are always there. Reviews and photos appear as travellers add them.

Can I plan a trip with other people?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Invite travel companions to a trip as a Viewer or Commenter and plan it together. Inviting is a Nomad Pro feature; the people you invite join, view and comment completely free — they never hit a paywall.

How do I join a trip someone shared with me?

Accepted Answer

Open their invite link and the trip appears in Roam under "Shared with you." From there you can see the plan and leave private comments. You can leave a shared trip any time.

What are memberships in Ready2Roam?

A place to record the park-chain and club memberships you already hold — BIG4, Good Sam, CMCA and the like — with an optional member number. When you're looking at a site you belong to, Ready2Roam reminds you to ask about member rates. It's free.

Can Ready2Roam prefer sites I'm a member of?

Accepted Answer

Yes — turn on "Prefer sites where I'm a member" and planning gives those sites a gentle nudge up the list. It only ever prefers a site because you told us you're a member — never because anyone paid us to. That preference is free.

How does mobile coverage work in Ready2Roam?

We combine carrier coverage data with real readings travellers' phones contribute as they drive. On a route you'll see the share with usable signal, the longest likely no-signal stretch, and any stops without signal. Where an area hasn't been mapped yet we say so plainly — an unmapped stretch is "no data yet," not a guarantee of signal either way. The Coverage Map and the route overlay are a Nomad Pro feature; the dead-zone-ahead safety callout while navigating is free.

Why does coverage say "no data yet" instead of clear?

Because being honest matters when you're planning where to camp. If we haven't mapped an area, we won't pretend it's covered — or that it's a dead zone. As more travellers drive through with coverage contribution turned on, those gaps fill in. You'll see the mapped share of your route alongside how much is still unmapped.

Does coverage work offline?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Download a region's offline pack and coverage for the whole route is worked out on your phone — no signal needed, and it's instant even on a very long trip. Without a pack we fetch it online when you're connected.

Can I help map mobile coverage?

Accepted Answer

Yes — it's opt-in. When you turn on coverage contribution, Ready2Roam takes a quick signal reading from the location your phone already has while you're navigating (it never switches on GPS by itself). Those readings are pooled anonymously to map coverage for everyone. You can turn it off any time in Settings.

Does coverage capture run in the background?

Accepted Answer

Only during an active navigation session, and only if you've opted in — so it can keep mapping with your screen off while you drive. It stops when navigation ends. It never tracks you when you're not navigating.

Do steep-grade warnings work offline, and do they know my rig?

Accepted Answer

Yes to both. Grade data comes down with your offline region pack, so steep-climb and descent warnings work without signal, and the threshold adjusts to your rig's weight rather than a flat number. Where we don't have grade data for an area, we say so rather than imply the road is gentle.

What is Trip Story?

Trip Story replays your journey as a cinematic 3D fly-through of the real roads you drove, with a card at each stop. At the end it plays your "Trip Wrapped" — the numbers that made the trip: distance driven, nights away, places seen, your biggest spending category, the stretch without mobile signal, your steepest climb, photos taken and your longest drive — with a short AI-written story over the top. A beat only appears if your trip has the data for it.

Can I share or export my Trip Story?

Yes. Share the full replay or a ~15-second highlight cut, and on iPhone choose full-screen, vertical (9:16) or square (1:1). You can also share a still "trip card" — a branded image of your route and headline stats, in light or dark — ideal for a quick post. Your home address is always protected: the route stops short of it and individual stops are never pinned on shared images. (Trip Story sharing is a Nomad Pro feature.)

What is the navigation Live Activity?

When you're navigating, a live card shows what's ahead — your next turn plus the first thing that matters on your rig: a restriction, a steep grade, a coverage gap or your next resource stop. On iPhone it appears on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and in StandBy, and on a paired Apple Watch and CarPlay (iOS 18+); on Android it's an ongoing navigation notification. The navigation Live Activity is a Nomad Pro feature.

Are the home-screen widgets free?

Yes — all four are free on iPhone and Android: Today on the road, Trip budget (with a Lock Screen gauge), Resume plan draft, and Signal ahead. Add them from your home screen's widget gallery. Only the live navigation card (Live Activity) is a Nomad Pro feature.

Yes. Your preferences — coverage choice, map layers, display settings, the tips you've dismissed — are tied to your account now, so a reinstall or a new phone restores them after the first sync. For privacy, consent choices (like coverage contribution) are confirmed again on a genuinely new device; a reinstall on the same phone keeps them.

What data is collected when I contribute coverage?

Only an anonymous signal reading tied to a map cell — no identity, no tracking of where you've been. It's opt-in, it only runs while you're navigating, and you can switch it off any time. It exists to make coverage honest for every traveller.
