Across the last few releases the app has quietly grown a memory, learned to share a whole trip in a tap, picked up the confidence to keep working with no signal, and started speaking French and German. Find Your Next Place Faster
The quickest win in the recent updates is discovery. The “Where to tonight?” search now lives in the + menu, reachable from any screen — no need to jump back to the map first. Search, and your results carry straight through to the map so you can see exactly where each option sits. The map itself is faster too, with smoother panning and better clustering, and the data behind every campsite is deeper: 55 fields now, including swimming pool, reservation status, fee type (down to donation), and 4WD access level. And when you find somewhere worth remembering, you can save any place with a tap — your saved places sync across every trip, and the place-detail card has been redesigned to put the information you actually decide on up front.
Keep Going Off-Grid
The best camps are often exactly where the signal is not. Offline Maps let you download your area before you head out, so the map, campsites, and every place you have saved keep working with no bars. When you do have coverage, live per-station fuel prices show right on the map, so you can spot the cheapest fill before you pull in rather than after — live pricing is rolling out in Australia first; elsewhere the map still shows fuel stops, with pricing following as coverage expands. And the redesigned Road Pulse card gives you the whole day at a glance — one status line for whether you are on track, plus your next stop, ETA, daylight remaining, and a smarter read on your daily budget.
Plan Multi-Leg Trips and Budgets in a Conversation
Planning got a lot less manual. Trip Chaining makes multi-leg journeys simple: start your next trip where the last one ended, with your departure pre-filled and the AI planning onward — no backtracking, and trip screens link between legs so you can hop through the whole journey. AI Financial Setup lets you describe your income, regular expenses, and trip plans in a conversation, and the Copilot drafts your Baseline and Trip Budget for you to review and confirm — a faster way to your Go/No-Go answer than filling every field by hand. The Copilot itself is sharper: it is more reliable, it does exactly what you ask, and it shows a confirmation card before anything is saved, across 17 hands-free actions. Nomad Pro members also get AI budget analysis, which spots spending trends, flags anomalies, and compares your trips.
Get Your Rig Set Up and Looked After
Adding and maintaining your rig is far less fiddly now. The Vehicle Setup Wizard walks you through your tow vehicle, caravan, or motorhome step by step, auto-filling weights, dimensions, and fuel economy from a shared community database. Vehicle maintenance is fully wired and free for every user — service reminders for registration, insurance, roadside assist, and rig-specific intervals, each with status badges, overdue alerts, and a full service history. And for Nomad Pro members, your rig weights — GVM, tare, payload, and tow ball — are displayed so you know your numbers before you hitch up, pairing with Ready2Tow for a deeper weight and tyre check.
Remember It, and Share It
This is where the app has changed the most. The Travel Map colours in every state and country you visit as you roam — a living record of your journey that you can share as a whole-year scrolling web story. And the newest feature, Trip Recap, is the single-trip version: turn any one journey into a beautiful scrolling web story you can send to anyone (no app needed to open it), complete with your route, your places, and your own journal words and photos — or save it as a keepsake video for your socials.
