V1.1.06 is our biggest update yet. It changes how you start a trip, what the AI Copilot can do for you, how your trips end, and how you keep your rig maintained between trips. Here is everything that is new.
The Trip Wizard: Plan a Trip in 5 Steps
The centrepiece of V1.1.06 is the Trip Wizard — a guided 5-step flow that replaces the old trip creation screen. Step one asks where you are going. You can describe your trip in plain English (“2 weeks along the Great Ocean Road with free camps”) and let the AI build a complete itinerary, or switch to manual mode and search destinations, browse preset routes, or drop pins on the map.
Step two sets your dates, with a flexible option if you have not committed yet. Step three shows a live map with suggested stops along your route — caravan parks, rest areas, free camps, and fuel stations — all drawn from our 2.9M+ POI database and filtered to your vehicle dimensions. Step four optionally sets up budget tracking with category breakdowns. Step five shows a summary card with your destination, dates, vehicle, and stops — tap Create Trip and everything loads into your dashboard.
The wizard works for both AI-planned and manually planned trips. Every step is visual, every step is optional, and you can always go back and change things. Five taps from idea to trip.
Your Copilot Acts, Not Just Answers
The AI Copilot in V1.1.06 has 17 write-back actions — up from 9 in the previous release. That means it does not just tell you things, it does things. Ask it to create a journal entry about your day and it writes one, capturing your current stop, weather, and mood. Ask it to generate a departure checklist and it builds one tailored to your destination, rig type, and weather forecast. Ask it to adjust your food budget and it updates the category in your trip plan.
The full list of write-back actions now includes: create journal entries, generate checklists, add stops to your trip, remove stops, reorder stops, adjust budget categories, look up vehicle specifications from our database, produce financial summary reports, plan complete itineraries, enrich journal text with polished prose, auto-categorise receipts from OCR scans, and more. Every action is confirmed with a single tap before it takes effect — the Copilot suggests, you approve.
Voice input works on both platforms. Siri Shortcuts on iOS and Google Assistant on Android let you ask questions or trigger actions while your hands are on the wheel (passenger side, obviously).
130+ Preset Routes Across 6 Regions
The route library has grown from 110 to over 130 curated routes, now covering Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and for the first time, Europe. The European collection includes 12 routes across Germany (the Romantic Road, the Rhine Valley, the Black Forest), 12 across France (the French Riviera, the Loire Valley, Brittany), and 13 cross-border routes (the Alpine Loop, the Mediterranean Coast, the Atlantic Way).
Every route includes curated waypoints, leg distances, estimated driving times, and fuel cost projections based on your vehicle profile. Browse by region, duration (weekend, week-long, or epic), or search by name. Pick one and the Trip Wizard creates your trip with all stops pre-loaded.
Trip Debrief: Every Trip Deserves a Proper Send-Off
When your trip ends, V1.1.06 wraps it up properly. The Trip Debrief screen assembles a personalised summary: photo highlights from each stop, a financial recap showing total spend, daily average, and budget variance by category, and a mood journey chart tracking how you felt across the trip. Animated stats bring the numbers to life, and text-to-speech reads the debrief aloud if you prefer to listen.
The AI generates a narrative summary of your adventure. Share it with friends or keep it as a personal milestone. It is a better way to close a chapter than scrolling through a spreadsheet.
Vehicle Maintenance Reminders
Your rig needs attention between trips, not just during them. V1.1.06 adds maintenance reminders specific to your vehicle type. Tow vehicles get oil changes, tyre rotations, brake inspections, and transmission service intervals. Caravans and trailers get wheel bearing repacks, safety chain inspections, fire extinguisher checks, and awning service reminders.
Each reminder tracks both time and distance intervals — whichever triggers first. Status badges show what is coming up and what is overdue. A service history log keeps a permanent record. Set push notifications and you will never miss a renewal, inspection, or safety check again.
Rich Text Journals
The trip journal now supports full rich text formatting. Bold, italic, underline, headings, bullet lists, subscript, and superscript — powered by a proper document editor rather than a plain text field. Auto-captured context chips show your current stop, weather, trip day, and date on every entry. Export your journal as a branded PDF photo book with a cover page, table of contents, maps, mood badges, and trip statistics.
Everything Else in V1.1.06
Beyond the headline features, this update includes dozens of refinements across the app. The AI Copilot backend has been rebuilt for faster response times with retry logic and exponential backoff for timeout scenarios. The bottom navigation bar has been redesigned for clarity. Budget insights now proactively flag overspending with dismissible AI-powered alerts on the Track screen.
The Trailblazer community contributor program is live: Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers for approved POI submissions that unlock free Nomad Pro access. Export options now include Summary PDF and Copy All Coordinates alongside CSV, XLSX, full itinerary PDF, and GPX.
